Thirty years after the adoption of the historic Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development, nation states from all over the world will once again reconvene in Doha, Qatar from 4 – 6 November 2025 to review the progress that has been, identify the gaps and recommit themselves to finding solutions to the pressing social issues facing humankind and our planet.
Over the past year the ICSD has engaged with its members in different forums to develop its stance on the priority issues facing the world today.
The ICSD affirms its commitment to participate in the Second World Summit for Social Development and releases its statement and full response to the draft Political Declaration to be debated and adopted at the upcoming Summit. We wish to encourage our members and partners to engage with the statement and participate in a global conversation about accelerating social progress. Actionable solutions are presented in poverty reduction, in employment, in the promotion of social integration and inclusion, in ensuring a just energy transition and in the appropriate, effective, and ethical use of technology and artificial intelligence for the greater good.
